Recently we pulled out our flashlights-o-dopeness and lit beams upon the most legit bandana-producing outfit going. We talkin' bout the you-should-know-about-it, One Ear Brand. Founded by Japan-based "bandana historian" and all-around menswear expert Jonathan Lukacek, One Ear is cementing its place along Kapital as a designer/maker of bandanas we have to fckn have.

After writing the initial piece, we received a heartfelt note from Lukacek himself (what a guy) and learned that One Ear Brand isn't his only venture. Nope, to our delight, he's branched out from previous experience repping the world's flexiest clothing brands and is now producing some of the sickest minimalist, do-everything workwear we've seen.
BOOM!
POW!
Gentleman, meet Fits Like A Hug
We broke virtual bread with Jonathan via the magic of electronic mail, and he gave us the maker's rundown of his favorite pieces from his recently-opened shop in the historic Shibakawa Building in Osaka, Hin Store. Yes folks, this stuff is designed, made, and distributed from everyone's most-trusted locale for the swaggiest threads in the world, Japan.
We love the inclusive, utilitarian, hyper-grounded ethos of Fits Like A Hug. Lukacek ain't tryna' flex, but he is hyper-committed to turning out the illest quality for regular guys like you and me, at a reasonable price point, with a high level of everything you need to look and feel dope about yourself and your clothes.
Fellas, put this brand on your list right now. Invest in quality over quantity. And be one of the first to get your hands on Lukacek's modern-day functional masterpieces. This brand is here for the taking for you early adopters, so GTF out there and spread the word.

Jonathan Lukacek Talks About Fits Like a Hug
Jonathan Lukacek: Looking at the premisconceptions of workwear and the overabundance of ready-to-fade-jeans, I took a hearty sincere look at the current market. FLAH is a brand built from over a decade of factory know-how, vintage and modern designs, and experience in the Japanese apparel industry. Focusing on fit and everyday performance of garments is the core of FLAH.

"Workwear for people who don’t necessarily drive pick-up trucks. Workwear for baristas, bartenders, florists, shop owners, gardeners, bamboo craftspeople, woodworkers, travel YouTubers…"
Jonathan Lukacek: Starting with fit. I really like vintage silhouettes and classic designs with updated twists. For example, the FLAH jeans are made from suspender style painter pants but have been tweaked so they fit and feel better with a belt.
The balance of width and drape is due to the choice of 10oz Jelt denim. So when you sit down you won’t feel any sort of uncomfortable pinching or squeezing of the fabric on your body. Jelt denim is woven tightly like duck canvas so it's more resilient to abrasive tears and punctures, and at the same time light weight.
These can be worn all year round. You may also notice the lack of a selvedge line, despite using selvedge denim the line has been hidden in the seams.

“This isn’t clothing to wear and fade-brag or label-flex with your online community."
Jonathan Lukacek: Moving onto performance, let's talk about the t-shirt. Performance for me is all about the resilience of an item between washes. Does that item look the same fresh out of the wash as it does at the end of the day?
I spent several years figuring out my own preferred formula for the FLAH Tee. Starting with Japanese loopwheel fabric as a base was important. This fabric gets a lot of hype but for the wrong reasons. I like how it's soft and fluffy but also it's very resilient even after a whole day of wear.
This also comes down to the simple construction of the garment without over-spec flat seam or name-brand sewing stitches. “Wash and wear”, is the motto of FLAH.

"These clothes are just like a hug you give yourself when you get dressed."
Jonathan Lukacek: Wrapping up with the focus of the brand. Fits Like A Hug is a clothing brand that makes clothing for city workers; workwear for people who don’t necessarily drive pick-up trucks. Workwear for baristas, bartenders, florists, shop owners, gardeners, bamboo craftspeople, woodworkers, travel YouTubers… people who need reasonably priced clothing with good quality and careful thoughtful design.
This isn’t clothing to wear and fade-brag or label-flex with your online community. These clothes are just like a hug you give yourself when you get dressed.
