If you read this site often, you'll no cap have stumbled across HAVEN's exquisite in-house line, because lately I've been extra stoked the brand's offerings.

I proudly own several Haven pieces and covet more, like this, this and this. At this point, I'm quite happy to sing Havenpraise from the balconies of coffee shops, hip breweries, and ski lodges from coast to coat. Every time I get a new piece from these Canadien maestros of elevated style and functionality, my bullishness on their craftiness amps up even more.

So of course, when the vaunted Vancouverites offered to send me a sweater from their F/W 2026 line, I jumped at the chance to try it out. The one that immediately jumped out at me is the Highland Knit Shirt, which is basically a reimagining of the traditional work shirt, but in a the form of a knit cardigan made of supersoftandcomfy merino wool cashmere. Sounds dope, right? Spoiler alert: it fucking is.

Sweater Weather is Here!

I advocate for lots of high-quality clothing items here at cortis.com, but one of the main reasons I do what I do for ya'll is to make it easier to find the things are so dope, they will become staples of your wardrobe for years.

I also stump for SWEATERS. There's just something special about the comfort and versatile swagger of a sweater. If I could, I would wear one every day. I live in a climate where it's routinely over 80 degrees for about 7 months out of the year. The remaining months are a mix of sweater, jacket, and t-shirt weather. So when I DO reach for my sweaters, I need to reach for something that will do the trick in multiple situations.

That's what I really enjoy about this thinking-mans-piece from Haven— the true versatility. It has a midweight feel and drape with a lighter-weight breathability. For that, give some credit to the mesh stitch underarm vents, the raglan sleeves, and the sumptuous materials.

With that breathability at the forefront, this knit can be worn as a second or third layer without losing any of it's class. On a cool day, you can wear it into the office with a shirt underneath, and on more mild day you can wear it it solo. And for all you cold-weather-living folks, it will of course be a great midlayer under your puffy jacket.

So far, I've worn this sweater to church, out to see my favorite DJ, to an art exhibition opening party, to a client interview, and on evening and morning walks. And now that I think about it, it's gotten quite a bit of play around the house, just for comforts sake.

No drama here. I love everything about this sweater. In terms of functionality, it's actually kind of a wonder, being a shirt, cardigan and overshirt all rolled into one. This is the perfect piece to wear 2-3 times per workweek to the office or to travel in. Picture yourself going to Europe for a winter week. You could wear this thing on the plane comfortably, pair it with a nice gore-tex shell for outdoor excursions, and show up at fashion week and look great.

A must have piece for the discerning minimalist!
