Our Favorite Leather Jackets for This Fall/Winter

This is what we call perfection in a leather jacket. Constructed using a beautiful European horsehide, Niceness has added tannins after chrome the tanning creating a material with a firm thickness and elasticity, while retaining the lightness and wild look of the most durable leather, horsehide. It achieves a balance of flexibility and strength unattainable with cowhide. This is what we consider a holy grail.But it doesn't stop there. Eleven zippers. There are eleven zippers on this jacket. The A.PRESSE Leather L2-B Flight Jacket reinterprets a USAF classic through refined proportion and luxurious materials. Cut with raglan sleeves and a relaxed body, it offers an unstructured, forgiving fit balanced by a compact ribbed hem and sharper shoulder line. Italian lamb nappa leather brings a soft, supple hand with subtle sheen, paired with lightweight insulation that retains warmth without bulk. The 8HU Leather Welder's Jacket from McCoy's is inspired by vintage style Welder's jackets from back in the day. Leather Welder's jackets proved most useful as they had a high heat capacity as well as having the collar (much like the traditional chore coat) that could be put up to provide extra protection. 

Cut in Japan from a heavy-weight, split, unprocessed Cowhide, the Welder's features a chin-strap and two button flap patch pockets, details common in the earliest models. A raglan sleeve for ease of wear has been paired with a snap button front while woven McCoy 8HU label completes the look.

100% horse leather. Sourced in Europe (Italy, Poland, France) as a by–product of the meat industry (no animals were harmed in the making of this jacket), then vegetable–tanned by Shinki Leather in Himeji, Japan. What does that mean, this is going to patina beautifully overtime.

Some might even say you will become one with the shirt. The horse leather is naturally thick and rigid, while also being highly durable and smooth to touch. This is one of those grail pieces we talk about.
